Increase in consumer prices over last 12 months – Compare car insurance in Ireland at Paddy Compare

Latest survey from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed that consumer prices rose 0.2% over the past year. Significant price increases were noted in alcohol and tobacco, with prices rising 4.8%. Education costs also rose by 4.8%. The CSO also recorded price increases in rent, electricity, gas and insurance prices. The low inflation figures have certainly boosted consumer spend but we all look ahead not to next week’s budget to see what the Government has planned for the future.
