Dublin restaurant owners hit hard by water shortage!

Chaos across Dublin as the water shortage to local restaurants continues. With supplies restricted for 12 hours each night since Thursday, restaurant owners across the City are struggling to stay open. The Restaurants Association of Ireland’s Chief Executive, Adrian Cmmins, said that despite Dublin restaurants paying the highest water rates in Europe, the council have refused to answer telephone calls over the weekend. 200 New Jobs for Waterford

Nypro, a US medical device company has announced the upcoming availability of 200 jobs in Waterford at its new manufacturing facility. It will make advanced respiratory and injectable devices for global medical customers.

The €60m investment is being supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland, and Enda Kenny has highlighted the importance of the venture for the southeast.

International visitors flock to Ireland

The number of trips to Ireland has risen in the three months to February this year, Central Statistics Office figures report.

North American residents make up the bulk of the increase, with a rise of 10%; equivalent to almost 15,000 additional visitors compared to this time last year. Trips by residents in Europe grew by 5.7% and trips here from other areas jumped over 15%.

Yahoo & McAfee boost jobs in Ireland!

More good news for unemployment figures as the Irish based operations, Yahoo and McAfee are set to create approximately 260 jobs over the next 12 months. The Taoiseach Enda Kenny confirmed the positions during a recent trip to the US and meetings with the Silicon Valley senior executives. Yahoo will hire over 200 people in their Dublin office across a range of service lines and McAfee will recruit around 60 engineers in Cork.

Ryanair to buy 175 planes to keep Ireland travelling

Rising profits in insurance firms!
